For a Bigger Cause

I love taking photos, so I decided to use my hobbyist love of photography for a bigger cause - The National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF).  Taken directly from their website:

"NBCF is committed to spreading knowledge and fostering hope in the fight against breast cancer. By funding free mammograms for women who could otherwise not afford them and supporting research programs in leading facilities across the country, NBCF helps inspire the courage needed to win this monumental battle."

There are so many women battling breast cancer.  I encourage you to check out their website to gain knowledge about this diagnosis and when you should start being screened.  There will soon be a tab with information about breast cancer at the top of this page.  There are now also other tabs with more details about the free photo sessions and how they will work.

Over the next 3 months, I hope to raise not only money, but also awareness for breast cancer.  I know it sounds super cliche, but together, we can make a difference!

It is a blog makeover kind of day!  Check out the new custom header, my first, and I must say I'm quite proud of it!

My Hometown

Although I haven't moved very far away, only a couple of towns over, I am still very much in love with my hometown.  It is a super small place, with lots of hidden beauty!  It has a very intimate feel.  Today I had a photo get together with a friend who shares my interest in photography.  We had a blast and really captured some great photos of our little town!


I need to go back and do some cloning on this one.  & I will, eventually, just not tonight, its entirely too late. :)

Valentine's Day Flowers

These are a few photos of the flowers my wonderful husband got me for Valentine's Day!

One Entirely Too Cute Little Girl!

Yesterday I had the pleasure of photographing one of the cutest little girls on the planet!  Her and her equally lovely momma are just too sweet!  They were such a joy to be with and it is obvious how much they love each other.  I simply can't get enough of her photos.  I am barely half way through them right now, so there will probably be another post to share more.  I should have probably waited until I was completely done, but she is just too adorable to resist sharing!

It was very windy out, which made the balloons a little scary for such a sweet girl.  But it was okay, because mommy kept little Hailee safe.

 So we got rid of the scary balloons!

Update on Noah:
Noah is doing great.  He got into one more really bad fight (I can't remember if I posted about that or not), which resulted in him spending five nights in the vet.  He had to have his tail amputated and we had him fixed.  As soon as the hair on his stub tail grows back he'll be the cutest stub around ;).  We are giving him antibiotic twice a day (that's no easy task).  The day we brought him home, he immediately got out of the pet taxi, went straight to the back door, and started meowing to get outside.  He evidently still wants revenge.  He has not been outside in 15 days (vet time + healing time).  He still looks pretty scruffy, and has quite a few remaining scratches.  We have been letting him hang out in the garage some while we aren't here.  That seems to help some.  Sometimes he doesn't want to come back in from the garage when we get home.  We have a vet appointment today to get his stitches out!

Kristen!

At the beginning of the month I had the opportunity to photograph a beautiful girl named Kristen.  She was a blast!  She required so little direction and was so comfortable in front of the camera.  I hope to have another session with her again soon!  Here are a few!

Blogcation Over

So I've been MIA for a while.  I've still been taking photos almost everyday.  I have however decided that I'm not going to blog every single one.  Nobody cares about 365 photos of my cat.  So I am only going to blog the better ones, which obviously won't be daily.

I have joined a new photography community and am shooting a lot more people, which is taking up a lot of my time.  Not to mention V-day is coming up!  More like sneaking up!  I don't even have anything planned yet!  Life is busy, but I love it!

Now enough boringness...on to photos (with a new post)!
