Photos for the National Breast Cancer Foundation Charity FAQ:
What does it cost?
There is a recommended donation of a minimum of $25, however the amount of donation is up to the individual. All of that money will go to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
Why would I want you to take our picture?
I by no means claim to be a professional photographer. Photography is something I am extremely passionate about and get a lot of joy out of. I will do my best to give you great results that you will be proud of. Plus, by doing this you are helping all of the women and families out there that have been hurt by Breast Cancer and helping others to prevent it.
Where will you take the pictures?
I use complete natural light, therefore all sessions will be done outdoors at a mutually agreed upon location, weather permitting.
What is in it for me?
I love photography and I want to expand my knowledge of it. I really enjoy the people I meet through this hobby. Breast cancer awareness is also something I care about and I want to raise money for this charity that helps so many women. What better way to encourage people to donate then by giving them memories to last a lifetime in return?
How long will my session last?
Each session will be 1-2 hours long.
Why will you only do 1-2 sessions a week?
I work night shift full time as a RN. This greatly limits the amount of time I have available for photography and outside life. Although your session may only last 2 hours, I spend many many hours after that uploading your photos, processing them, creating online galleries, etc. In total, I probably spend a minimum of 12 hours on your shoot alone.
Why will it take a maximum of 3 weeks to have my photos ready to be viewed?
As answered in the previous question, I have a full time job, so my time is rather limited. Although the majority of online galleries will be available for viewing much sooner than 3 weeks, I want to make sure I have plenty of time to spend on each individual photo.
General Photography FAQ:
What kind of gear to you have?
Canon
What mode do you shoot in?
I shoot in full manual.
What is manual?
Manual mode is a setting on your camera where you pick all of your settings. The camera doesn't pick anything for you. You pick your aperture, shutter speed, ISO, focal points, etc to achieve the desired look and exposure.
How did you learn to shoot in manual?
I've read a lot of things online. Bugged people more experienced than me to answer all of my questions. I follow a lot of photography blogs, it is a lot easier for me to understand that way. But to be honest, the best way to learn is to practice, practice, practice, and practice some more!
